Brazil Nuts (Bertholletia Excelsa)
“Brazil nuts” are the fruits of a tree found in a natural and wild way, and only in the amazonian jungles of Bolivia, Brasil, Peru, Guayana and Colombia. Very difficult to harvest because trees are hidden in the jungle.
These nuts are known for their high antioxidant level in comparison to other nuts and for its good fats. It also has great content of minerals, like calcium, iron, potasium, magnesium, phosphorus and zinc and also Vitamin B1. It´s content of selenium, which help increase the antioxidants effects, has a preventive effect on cancer.
Yacon (Smallanthus sonchifolius)
Locals classified yacon as a fruit. The tuberous roots possess an agreeable sweet flavour, an attractive crunchiness and are commonly eaten raw, usually after a period of exposure to the sun.
Several carbohydrates are stored in the roots of yacon: fructose, glucose, sucrose. (Asami et al. 1989; Ohyama et al. 1990). Making it convenient to process it in a sweet syrup to replace common sugar. In Bolivia yacon is commonly consumed by diabetics and persons suffering from digestive problems. Cacao nibs (Theobroma cacao)
Cacao nibs are cacao beans that have been roasted, separated from their husks, and broken into smaller pieces. They have a chocolatey taste, but are not sweet. It is a very useful ingredient, as a snack alone, in nut mixes, in smoothies or in your cooking and baking.
In cacao nibs you can find a great source of vital minerals like Magnesium (important for muscle and nerve function), Iron (necessary for red blood cell production), polyphenols, flavonols, omega fatty acids, antioxidants (one of the most antioxidant rich food and alkaloids like Theobromine, which are mood improvers. Pineapple (Ananas comosus)
The pineapple plant is a tropical fruit that can take over two years to grow. Raw pineapple can be a great source of manganese, calcium, and of vitamins A, C, D and some of group B. Also bromelain is an enzyme present in the fruit, that breaks down protein and is useful as a digestive aid and an effective anti-inflammatory.

Sesame seeds (Sesamum indicum L.)
Sesame seeds may be the oldest condiment known to man. They are highly valued for their oil which is exceptionally resistant to rancidity. Its seeds contain between 50% and 60% oils, which are highly stable, given the presence of natural antioxidants as Sesamin and Sesamol.
Sesame seeds are an excellent source protein (20% content), of copper, manganese, and a good calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc, molybdenum, vitamin B1, selenium, and dietary fiber. It is used in the preparation of many dishes and sweets: breads, crackers, cookies, nougats, butter, tahini., salads, soups… Asian dishes like Chinese and Japanese use it thoroughly.
